My Week In Books ( w/e 4th April) #bookupdates #booklove #MeAndMyBooks

Hello and welcome to another weekly wrap up of the books I have read this week. A day later than usual just because I was busy on Sunday and didn’t get around to prepping my post. Also, it was too nice to be inside so I did a bit of gardening and time does seem to disappear. Billy and Buster certainly loved being outside, it is obviously hard work being a dog 😁

Rhubarb is coming up a treat and is almost ready for its first picking. Also had a couple of small asparagus stems. Nice to start to looking at things growing and I cant wait to get to the time when I can once again just pop down the garden for things rather than the shops.

Ok, now for the books…

This is the first time I have read a book by Gordon Bickerstaff, his latest one The Black Fox is the third book in the series and yes I do wish I had read the others first. I didn’t check before signing up for the Blog Tour, but I have no regrets as this book is one crazy, action-packed, conspiracy fuelled thriller from start to finish. I loved the main character and I am looking forward to reading more by Gordon.

I really must get caught up on previous books by Samantha Tonge as she does write some fabulous stories. Summer Secrets at Streamside Cottage is her latest book and I adored it. This book had a fabulous community feel to it as newcomer to the village finds her feet. There is a wonderful mystery that develops and it has a really nice romantic thread. Loved it.

Owen Mullen is another author who I really must catch up reading. Games People Play is the start of a new series and what a brilliant start it was. This was a dark and very devious story that had so many different elements and sub plots. It was an absolute pleasure to read. A missing child, past secrets, interwoven plots gave such an addictive read to this slower paced crime and mystery story.

This is a new author to me and what a fabulous book I Am Here To Kill you by Chris Westlake is. This is a psychological thriller that I adored and is also a little different to those that I have read before. A look into manipulation, brilliant characters and such a twisted and devious storyline that had me hooked.

All the books this week are for upcoming Blog Tours so keep your eye out for my full reviews. I will say that everyone of the books is brilliant and I would definitely recommend all of them.

Have a fabulous week,

Happy Reading

Yvonne xx

    1. Thanks Eva, the weather has changed quite drastically and we have a bitterly cold wind now. I’m so glad I got out in the garden and made the most of the lush weather when I did xx
