A flying visit this week as I am trying to get my blog up to date and organised for the next couple of weeks coming. I am doing this because I am off to see my parents for a week. We haven’t seen each other since before the fist long down and it has been far too long. We still message and talk on a regular basis. I am very excited about seeing them, a little nervous about driving up there but it will be so worth it.
I will say a “Thank You” in advance now for any shares from Wednesday onwards, I only have blog tour posts scheduled for this period.

This is 4th book in #20booksofsummer challenge, A Secret Scottish Escape by Julie Shackman was a wonderful escapism read and I adored the threads and storyline that the author brought to this story. A mix of mystery, romance, family drama and wonderful scenery made this a fabulous read.

If you like dark, twisted crime, thriller read then look no further than Sharon J Bolton and her book The Pact. I really must pick up more of her other books! The Pact is something that a group of teens agree to, years later that pact is called out. What happens, who is involved and the outcome was so addictive reading. I adored the intrigue, suspense and twisted route the author chose to take. Brilliant book.

A non-fiction that I had planned on reading over several day was Unofficial Britain by Gareth E Rees. I say was planning… I started this book and was totally hooked to it. The author brilliantly old me of obscure, long forgotten or not noticed things from around Britain. The book is about everyday things such as electricity pylons, yeah you read that right lol! Also motorways, roundabouts, housing estates, while this does not sound immediately attractive what the author does is take you on a journey into and around areas like this. Pointing out not noticed things, imparting local knowledge and tales. A brilliant book and I loved it.
That’s it for me this week, I do have an audio and a crime book on the go at the moment. You will have to wait for my next update in a couple of weeks before you get to know what they were. Unless you sneak a peak on Goodreads of course lol xx

Many thanks for reading my post, a like or share would be amazing 🙂 xx
