Hello and welcome to my weekly round-up of the books I have read this week. I had to go to the dentist this week, the first time I have left the village on my own since end of February last year. I driove the car for the fir4st time since the beginning of July, so a big brave week for me! Yes, a trip to the dentist made me very happy lol, I finally had the wobbly and irritating tooth removed!
So, what have I read this week…

Let’s be honest here, you can’t go wrong with this author and Her Last Holiday by C.L. Taylor was an amazing read. I have to say that the author did a job not only with the story line but also with the characters, not the most trustworthy to say the least. This is a story that had me hooked, a theme of finding what happened to a family member, a strange family relationship and a retreat are just the basics of this brilliant story. Keep your eye out for this when it’s published.

OH WOW! Am I so glad I signed up for the Blog Tour for this book or what, it is fabulous. The Kindness of Psychopaths by Alan Gorevan is an absolute belter of a book. A police procedural that has some amazing twists and awesome characters. Loved this book and the way the author has laid it out. And as for the title – well it fits superbly well. Keep and eye out for my full review as part of the Tour.

Mary Wood has a new trilogy The Jam Factory Girls is the first book of the three and, well it’s Mary so I knew I was going to love this book. I adore this authors writing and the way she completely captivates my attention. Mary is definitely an author who knows how to write hear-tbreaking as well as hopeful sagas and historical fiction novels. This one is already out so go grab a copy. My full review will be out later this week.
Before I go I just want to share three books that I received this week.

I was so surprised and absolutely delighted to receive a copy of The Whispers by Heidi Perks from the lovely Rachel at Penguin Random House.
The other two books were giveaway prizes. From Sharon at Shaz’s Book Blog I won a copy Advent by Jane Fraser from her Advent Giveaway and The Last Thing To Burn by Will Dean from the publisher via Nikola at Breathing Through Pages Blog. I am so excited about these books as they had both been on my wish list.
So a good week, 1 toof less to worry about and 3 new books and me a very happy reader!
Wishing you all a fabulous week ahead,
Yvonne xx
