My Week In Books (w/e 31st May) #Booknews #booksread #gardenupdate #MeAndMyBooks

Well another scorcher of a week and what an ideal time to get out in my garden. I love my weed and read routine, I weed for a bit then go and sit and read for a bit it works for me 😁

We have had a change to out garden setup, unfortunately something got in the goose pen and attacked our 3 geese. Unfortunately it was quite bad and they had to be put down. What we have decided is rather than get more birds and possibly go through the heartache again is to completely change the area. It has been dug over and we have planted several trees and shrubs. So we have apple and pear trees, cherry blossom, chestnut, beech and ash trees and shrubs are camellia, azalea, choisya, rock rose and a few other bits. We have also grass seeded it over, although it does look a little bit bare at the moment we can both see how it will look when things start establishing themselves.

The above photo was taken at the beginning of May with the Goose run along the left side and across the bottom.

The fork marks where the bottom of the goose run, the second is from the bottom of my garden looking back up to my house. And this is the reason I have a camping stove and kettle in my shed at this end of the garden so I can keep hydrated with many mugs of black coffee 😁

OK, so let me show you what I have read this week… it has been a summery reading week as you will soon discover…

I do enjoy reading books by Kathryn Freeman and her latest one Up Close & Personal is another fabulous read. A bodyguard and a film-star are thrown together in this story, trying to keep a professional relationship is difficult as there are sparks of interest between the two main characters. I thoroughly enjoyed this and would recommend it to rom com readers.

This is the first book I have read by Shari Low and I absolutely adored it. One Day in Summer is such a wonderful read and I was hooked the entire way through. Secrets, lies and so much more in this brilliant read. A mix of family, friendship, romance and my review will out later in the month.

Katie Ginger is another fabulous author who creates amazing settings to go with a totally captivating story. Summer Strawberries at Swallowtail Bay is a gorgeous escapism read that had me hooked as I followed Hetty as she tries to get a festival organised on a local landowners land. A storyline that is a mix of romance, friends and family drama. This is the second book in the series but works really well as a stand alone. Another excellent read and again my review will be later this month.

Well three books this week for me. I am listening to the second Harry Potter Audiobook from Audible.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is narrated by the fabulous Stephen Fry, I know I do go on a bit about him and his narration, but he is brilliant.

Well. that’s me done for another week.

Happy Reading Folks, and Stay Safe

Yvonne xx
